Comments:
I trained in Manchester and obtained the BSc (Hons) in Speech Pathology and Therapy. I am state registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (MRCSLT) and a member of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (MASLTIP). I have enhanced clearance from the criminal records bureau. I have experience in a variety of settings working with both paediatric and adult clients. I believe in a holistic approach using evidence-based practice techniques. I use multi-disciplinary working whenever possible and find that the therapeutic process is most effective when working with family/carers. I have a specific interest in the psychological difficulties faced by individuals with communication difficulties and have gained specific training in self-esteem and confidence issues. I am also the chairperson and founder member of the RCSLT Special Interest Group (SIG) in Psychology. I am available to work in the Lancashire and Yorkshire area.
